23/5/2008£19,000 win puts mum on holiday high

LUCKY mum Mhairi Brown has her family's summer holiday sorted, thanks to a £19,000 lottery windfall.
Mhairi, from Drumchapel, was overjoyed when she was presented with £18,750 in the People's Postcode Lottery Street Prize.
The 38-year-old is a full-time carer for her daughter Chelsea, aged 10, who suffers from learning disabilities.
Mhairi was helping Chelsea pack for a healing trip to Lourdes when a TV crew turned up with the winning cheque.
Now Mhairi will be able to take both Chelsea and 11-year-old sister Jade on holiday this summer, as well as finishing decorating their home.
She said: "I really can't believe this. You've answered my prayers.
"I've never won anything before and this money will really come in hand. I've been trying to decorate my house for a while now.
"Money's been a bit tight so I've been doing it up by room. Now I can get it out the way and take my two daughters on a holiday this summer."
Each week the £25,000 Street Prize is shared between ticketholders living in the winning postcode.
Mhairi had clearly done her research by buying three tickets, meaning she scooped three quarters of the £25,000 prize pot, while a neighbour was presented with a cheque for £6250.
The good fortune spread to a further 97 winning tickets in the surrounding neighbourhood that shared the Postcode Sector Prize of £5000, with prizes ranging from £51 to £153.
People's Postcode Lottery sponsors STV's Postcode Challenge and has raised £300,000 for Scottish charities since January, including CHILDREN 1ST, Maggie's Centres and the Scottish Wildlife Trust.
